Past Board Experience:

I would like to be a member of the AEHIA Board as I believe I have much to contribute with several different perspectives as someone who is:
Senior Account Executive – Florida Healthcare Division, Nuance Communications, Inc.
I live in Orlando, Florida with my family of six, and my oldest daughter is in her clinical rotations and pursuing general surgery in South Florida. I graduated from UCF with a BS in Finance & International Business with Minor in Military Science. Upon graduation I served a total of 9 years as a Field Artillery Officer in the U.S. ARMY. I completely my MBA in 2005 and completed my EDBA this month, and currently writing my dissertation on “Can The Use Of Perceived Technology Impact The Value Of Technological Enhancements In The Patient Healthcare Experience” at Rollins College. I have worked in the medical technology and device industry for over 16 years. I enjoy the fast pace of innovation, ability to learn and create, and to collaborate on the utilization of technology to improve the quality of care.
I believe the mission to advance the role of the CAO through education, collaboration, and advocacy in support of applications that improve healthcare delivery and efficiency are critical to help resolve the challenges that we face today and in the future. The substitution and supplementing of technology to help improve the quality of care and the patient experience will continue to grow, and the importance of the CAO role will be instrumental in ensuring that healthcare systems invest in technology applications that help support organizational goals.

I’m thrilled to be joining AEHIA as Philips Healthcare’s representative. In the almost 20 years of work in healthcare IT and applications, I have been driving the collaboration between healthcare provider organizations and strategic vendors in order to improve the clinical, operational and, most importantly, the patient experience. Now more than ever, the alignment of how healthcare organizations look at using the data that comes from a variety of sources from across the healthcare system is more critical than ever.
I see AEHIA’s mission, in part, as helping to enable how our industry looks at normalizing and standardizing data in order to derive better, more efficient processes through collaboration between providers and vendors learning not only from best practices but also from existing pain points and their strategies to overcome those challenges through improved application interoperability and strategic implementation. I’d like to contribute to the continued development of AEHIA’s responsibilities working in-concert with CHIME, AEHIT, and AEHIS to introduce, educate, and influence the development of better processes and use of applications to create an integrated approach to system-wide challenges across the senior healthcare system leadership. I look forward to partnering with the other board members and staff as we drive to the future of healthcare IT.
