Applications Leaders from Allina Health, Ascension to Serve on AEHIA Board

ANN ARBOR, MI, Dec. 3, 2018 – Sheri Ribeiro, vice president of enterprise applications at Allina Health, and Stacy Rasmussen, director of the Ascension Florida Strategic Account Management (SAM) team, have been elected to the board of the Association for Executives in Healthcare Information Applications (AEHIA). They will assume their posts on Jan. 1, 2019.
Ribeiro oversees applications that support care delivery, corporate, revenue cycle and digital consumer and employee experience at Allina, a not-for-profit healthcare system that serves communities throughout Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. Before joining Allina Health in 2016, she served as director of EHR support and client engagement at Sutter Health.
“Whether they are consumers, patients, customers, or people thriving in our communities, technology and applications make things possible,” Ribeiro said. “Our industry is evolving at a pace not seen before. The ability to reimagine how applications are integrated, leveraged, optimized and used is critical to help people thrive.”
Ribeiro is a graduate of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) Healthcare CIO Boot Camp, a member of the AEHIA Professional Development Committee and is a board member for the Minnesota Epic User’s Group. AEHIA was formed through CHIME in 2014 as an educational, professional development and networking platform for chief applications officers and other senior healthcare IT applications leaders.
Rasmussen, who has worked in multiple roles within the Ascension family, currently serves in the Jacksonville ministry. Previously she was a SAM director in Ascension Wisconsin. Prior to joining the SAM team, she led the Ascension Wisconsin ERP solutions team and helped launch Ascension Wisconsin’s first all-digital hospital in 2005. Ascension is the largest nonprofit health system in the U.S.
She has been an active member in AEHIA since its start in 2014. She also has served on the AEHIA Professional Development Committee.
“It’s exciting times to serve in our roles as CIOs, vice presidents of applications and market directors (to name a few) because we get to be key leaders and partners in transforming what it means to be influential executives within healthcare information applications,” Rasmussen said. “Partnering with key professional organizations such as AEHIA is essential to this transformation, and the opportunities are endless.”
“Sheri and Stacy are true leaders who advocate for the profession,” said John Henderson, vice president and CIO at Children’s Hospital of Orange County and AEHIA’s board chair. “Their enthusiasm and vision will elevate AEHIA and help our members use their expertise to advance healthcare in their communities.”
