Josh Kohrumel has over 12 years of experience in health care technology. He currently serves as the Chief Data Officer for Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego.

Rady Children’s is a nationally recognized integrated delivery system based in San Diego, CA. It is the largest children’s hospital in California and has been ranked by US News & World Report as one of the country’s best children’s hospitals, achieved Nursing Magnet designation and acknowledged as a Most Wired hospital from 2012 through 2015.

As Chief Data Officer, Josh is responsible for data strategy, information security, innovation and business technologies, which includes oversight of analytics, enterprise resource planning and other business applications, integration/interface development, web services, database administration, project services, testing management, Epic application security, PeopleSoft application security, core Information Security (DLP, AV, web filtering, forensics, incident response, etc.), enterprise architecture, mhealth, telemedicine and other emerging technologies. Before serving as Chief Data Officer, Josh was the Director of the Portfolio Management Office for Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego. Before joining Rady Children’s, he contributed to the advancement of health care technology at Southern California Permanente Medical Group (Kaiser Permanente) and the Veterans’ Health Administration Greater Los Angeles, West Los Angeles Medical Center. Predating his health care technology work, Josh has seven years of clinical research experience. Josh has a background in health policy and management, earning an MPH from University of California, Los Angeles. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of California, San Diego.

Josh is also the current vice chair or the AEHIA Board.
